Performer/Actor

I became a professional actor in 1978 so, as you can imagine, I have been involved with quite a few shows. Below is a selection of the more recent ones.

"Ged Stephenson is an all round performer of distinction and a right old versatility pants! A truly great clown and a wonderful actor able to invoke huge laughter and huge pathos in equal measure - in an instant - at the drop of his slapstick hat! A life long friend and comic foil - a wonderful teacher - a great musician - a truly inspiring Director - and a warm hearted performer of huge talent and distinction."

Chris Grimes - Instant Wit

'Ged is a very funny man, with all the instincts, timing, and pain of a true clown'

Walk On The Wild Side

We are working on a new Covid-safe promenade show for Summer 2021 exploring  connection, particularly connection with nature and the living world.

Playful, funny, poignant and life affirming - performed by two clowns. What could possibly go wrong?

FIRST PERFORMANCE: 19TH JUNE as part of the Norton Show Safari at Norton-Sub-Hamdon.

Devised and Performed by
Leela Bunce & Ged Stephenson
with support from Ignite Somerset/Somerset Film

Generously supported by The Brewhouse Theatre & Arts Centre, Taunton

"Ged is one of those annoying people who is really multi-talented. He is an ace deviser and collaborator, a truly ridiculous clown who is also able to find the very rawest heart of a scene, and a generous and innovative director and writer."

IN SEARCH OF CINDERELLA 2021

cinderalla poster.jpg

This was a wonderful experience. Written by Richard Crowe (Over The Wall), In Search of Cinderella was a very special pantomime for the people of Somerset.

It was filmed in various fabulous arts venues across the county, as well as at Glastonbury Abbey. To be part of such a production, working with a supportive and fun cast and crew, was a real joy and brought a smile to many people’s faces during lockdown. The show was available online (still is) and, at the last count, had been viewed by nearly 1500 people.

One Minute Theatre Festival

One minute.png

The One Minute Theatre Festival of quick fire 60 second films were committed to film by Somerset artists. You can see all the films on the BARN Theatre Somerset Youtube Channel https://bit.ly/BARNYouTube

They were commissioned collaboratively with Wassail Theatre during Covid-19 lockdown for the theatre-making community in Somerset to support each other during lockdown.

Responding quickly and creatively, people from across the theatre-making spectrum used their imaginations to produce snapshots of what the world means to them right now. Many were created using the simplest of means, on phones, tablets and laptops, often alone, and always safely at home.
